Volunteers are the heartbeat of United Way! From our Board Members to those who attend our annual volunteer projects, we rely on volunteers to help us carry out our mission of ensuring everyone in our community has access to basic needs.
When you volunteer with United Way, we promise you will:
United Way hosts volunteer projects year-round that are perfect for individuals, families, and groups. Custom volunteer opportunities are also available for organizations and corporations.
With all that our world is facing today, it’s more important than ever for kids to have a caring adult in their life who will encourage and empower them through real life decisions. Right now in Palm Beach County, 1,050 kids are waiting to be matched with a mentor. It takes one person to make a difference in a child’s life. You can be that person.
As we enter the program’s twenty first year of service, United Way needs your help recruiting 200 volunteers! A commitment of four hours per week is required during tax season. We offer 16 VITA convenient site locations throughout Palm Beach County and a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Volunteering for the VITA Program is an extremely rewarding opportunity! No experience is required and there are opportunities that don’t involve preparing taxes.
Looking for ways to volunteer from home? We offer creative virtual options, like decorating a Star of Hope to inspire others, making bookmarks to promote literacy for young readers, or playing Volunteer Bingo to complete impactful tasks. These opportunities allow you to make a difference remotely while staying connected to your community.
